I can see both sides, Depp needs cash for the site, and most of us under 18's dont want porn ads, So maybe depp could get ads with 18+ disclaimers on them, That would solve the problem I feel, and Im sure more people feel like that too

a note on the pg-13 thing, as I alluded to in the other thread: it really isn't that the 18+ make more money but that the non-adult is literally seriously totally for real not at all an option.

IIRC! we used to have them and they dropped us due to not wanting their products/services associated with, well....just take a ten second look at the TorD Online forum.

I don't think 18+ disclaimers are really needed--the sites themselves that are adult in nature would by law have disclaimers of their own when you click through the link. Also, I think the fact that they are 18+ (or 21 or 16 or whatever depending on your jurisdiction) seems....pretty obvious just from looking at the ad.

That said, I'm not like opposed to disclaimers. I just don't think they are strictly neccassary.

EDIT: yeah, the nudity ones should be reported. those are a whole nother league.

I agree completely, that is an inappropriate ad.

getDare is not filled to the brim with ads. In my opinion, we have far fewer ads than most other websites out there. The ads are occasional and unobtrusively placed. Also, logging in with any account hides a fair number of them. While some may link to adult content, they don't contain graphic nudity.

Running getDare costs cash. Ads help pay bills.

I know some of you don't like the ads. I'll look at adding code to turn off ads for paid members this weekend. If you have constructive alternative suggestions, I would prefer to continue the conversation via PM.
