Well the first pc I ever used was on dos 5 but my own was a win 95.

True, then again, I don't bother thinking about Mac, but if you want to use it, you have to buy certain hardware, for a very certain amount of monies.
I prefer Linux myself to windows, that's just it's been around longer, and has better features.
Wasn't solaris around at the start too?
