Its been a long time, so I think I can bring it back up.

I still think it will be very good idea to have a thing in the chat to indicate when someone is typing.

Still waiting on that.

Why?

It's trivial and just not needed.

The "so and so is typing" works best on a purely one-to-one platform such as MSN/Facebook chat. A chatroom is busy with lots of people, so it'd just be stupid and unnecessary information.

Ya funny how he thinks it will. If the mods implimented every one of your ideas then Depp would be on making unneccessary/ unbeneficial changes forever. This is just adding more pointless threads to the forum.

I also agree with softy I don't like the idea. And on days when when there are lots of active members in the room it will probably fry the system with x number of people talking at once

Well it could be something like add it and see how it is kind of thing. You see? You don't always have to turn down an idea without putting much thought into it.

They have this is one of the other chatrooms I go in. I don't really use it, but it can work I guess. I just don't see much of a point to it.

loke, we used to have it, it was wasn't great, we don't have it now, it won't improve the chat, but it will take up tiny little bits of room that we need for other things

So you'll probably be waiting a while..

I don't think this adds anything substantial to the site. And it would infact eat up more code on the site and make it heavier to execute. I would not be bothered if this is never added.
