Search for Users

There should be a way to search for users. I know that you can go to Search -> Advanced Search and type in a user to find their posts, but what if they don't have any posts?
I think typing in a username in the search bar should bring you to their page.

I agree with that, its infuriating when the person for all intents and purposes doesnt exist because they have no posts.

Wow! every forum site I've ever been a member of has that function. I'm assuming there's a reason they haven't got it?

I Totally support this idea.

Or, perhaps even if there wasn't an official search option per-se but, if you could access profiles say, the way Youtube has their accounts set up to make the URL

www.getdare.com/bbs/users/Ninjota

Or some way to find someone that way.

One little workaround I found out is to search for the username on the list of online users. This list is found at the bottom of the forum overview. On kinktalk there is even a list with users that were online the last 24 hours, which lists quite a lot of people.
This workaround works not often, but sometimes it does quite a good job

By the way: I guess most people who have never written a post are fakes

Well, i think this is a good idea but it isn't quite necessary as you could always use google... What i usually do is type: site:getdare.com <username here> profile I usually get satisfactory results

There are work arounds like other members have said but an acutal inbuilt function would be brilliantly beneficial

Yes I usually do that but with very generic names like say, "puppy" (I don't know if this is really someone's username), I just get lots of links to threads and posts with that word in it. It only really works with longer names like "AlmightyElemental" (shoutout! :P)

I feel like this is one of those thing that would be nice, but isn't truly needed. I've only ever had to search for members a few times and never for a user without any posts. Most Names are also not so comon that if you search them with the name "getdare" attached that it wouldn't show up in a google search like Aivey said.

A while ago I was looking for someone who added me on msn, turns out he didn't have posts either, so he didn't exist on gD. I think this is a great idea actually
