The Dare Slave Room has become the Lounge

Hey, so I'm just a bit annoyed that it seems that the Dare Slave room in TorD chat has become the lounge. It seems the point of each room being named is so that people go to the room that is relevant to what they want to do or discuss. The problem seems to have occurred six or seven months back when there was a period of time where there were few people in the lounge and a large number of people in the dare slave room. So those in the loung moved over to the Dare slave room to talk about something with people. Then more people started switching over to the point where the lounge rarely sees people there and the dare slave room is full of people who should be in the lounge.

Take this copy pasted section from the history in the dare slave room.
(I erased names for confidentiality purposes)

This if it were an every once and a while thing wouldn't bother me but it feels the same as someone requesting dares in the dare section of the forums rather than the TorD online section. I would just like to ask people to try and remember that rooms are given a name for a reason and we should try to stick to those reasons.

It absolutely boggles the mind ... why do people find it so hard to click "Lounge" instead of "Dare Slave"?

We've had this problem before...

The thing is, people go in the room where there are most people, regardless of what the room is supposed to be for. I remember the days when the lounge was a lounge, but we still had people coming in and asking to play TorD, or asking for Masters or Slaves....whatever...

But at least then the people looking for s/m or TorD could be redirected...

I think there should be a way to enforce the rooms and the topics they're used for...

People are sheep they follow where the masses of their friends are. Simple fact is until a large chunk move nothing will change

Edit: @doctor: the mods have tried to move people before it rarely makes a difference

I do understand where youre coming from though its unfortunate people really should move. I might try start a migration

It really is all based on where people are, I click chat, I see that everyone is in Dare Slave so that's where I go. It really isn't going to change unless everyone at one time moves to the lounge and continues to go to the lounge to talk.

If I were a mod, I'd simply change the name of the room whilst people were still in it Then they'd be buggered.

I would have no problem moving if the people I talked to moved.. I just don't want to sit in the lounge by myself lol.

The problem is...The mods (who are all cool) are people as well and they find it hard to resist their friends and get sucked into the mess with the rest of them...Playing hardball is hard and they dont wanna cause trouble with their friends...so I think ADMIN should play hard ball.

I don't really care. Now that the disappearing usernames issue has been fixed, I can sit in both rooms and watch the dareslave while chatting in the lounge. Still, I think it's time for ADMIN to make a comment. Isn't that right, ADMIN ANGEL?

In all honesty it's pretty much a given that the people looking for slaves, dares, truths, whatever, will go where the people are. Be it the dare slave room or the lounge. I mean be realistic... if you're looking for dares, are you going to go to a room with one person in it? Or the room with 12?

Just my thoughts.

Good move to the staff for making the Lounge the default room. I think it'll work well.

But that's easier to deal with I think, 'cause I've hardly ever seen the TorD room or the other rooms empty, there's always at least one person there to my knowledge.
