Out of place for three reasons: it's a shopping trolley where it shouldn't be, it's left out alone in the rain, and the diffraction of the water distorts the light and so send bits of the photo out of their places.

I hope I am not too late! Here is my entry, not the best and a little rushed lol, but oh well!
This is a picture that I took on a trip along the coast. I thought it was really cute and funny to have a very sophisticated dragon among the succulents in the garden.

This is my entry (I included an original because the photo is edited)
This is a photo of the 10 origami lilies I made with a real flower in the centre. Simply, the flower in the centre is out of place amongst lilies made of paper. It is also a symbol of life situations or a metaphor for life. When something real is surrounded by that which is not real, it is often the real thing that is out of place. E.g. If we are surrounded by people that are fake, you as a genuine person will be the person out of place. The colour editing of the photo ads to the idea of the flowers surrounding being fake and making it more out of place. Sorry if my explanation isn't the best, I'm not the most articulate person in the world.

Not the best quality of picture in the world as it was took on my phone.
Out of place: - A dog in a window of a funeral directors, giving me the look of death. Why: - When you come across random things like this you just have too for the memories. Last edited by Obedient_Calf; 02-08-2011 at 09:59 AM. |

So week one is over, congratulations and thanks are in order to all those who participated in the proceedings.
and for you i give........... Week 2 So it is simple find a nice tree and photograph it, or a nasty tree for that matter. Although this is not difficult at first glance I would recommend trying out a number of options. This weeks title is Towering trees Trees can create such an amazing effect with the right spark to them, they can be beautiful and awe inspiring, or spooky enough to send a shiver down your spine. Things to consider: -lighting -Composition and positioning. Again a reminder of the point scoring.... 2 points for posting an image 2 points for an explanation of why you took it. 5 runners up 10 winner. Rules: 1. Under NO circumstances, no if’s, no but’s no aww but pleases, No inappropriate photographs, all photographs MUST be PG13. 2. All photos must be placed in this thread to be considered. 3. You have 1 week to submit your photograph for each title, after this time your entrance wont be counted but may still be charged. 4. Still no inappropriate content. 5. My word is final, you don’t like how i chose then tough. 6. Photos all should be your own work taken on a camera. Using a search engine to find one kinda defeats the point a little. However they may be edited. The closing time for this entry is Tuesday 15th February at 11pm GMT. (UK time) at which point I will post the next weeks challenge. The winner will be announced on Wednesday 16th.

:3 My picture yay.
So why I took it, i looked outside and saw the sky, so i ran outside and took some pictures of that... And then I noticed the trees on the side of my neighbours house, and realized how pretty it looked.. It reminds me of a forest. - no editing done at all, all the natural light and colors.

Seasons.
Well, this one was extremely hard cause I have so many pictures I could enter... I love taking picture of nature and trees. :P
So I picked this picture, because I thought it was pretty how up in the mountains it's winter.. And down below it's still fall. The trees were absolutely beautiful. I took a trip to North Carolina to visit my Aunt and she took me to a place called "Grandfather Mountain" with a "mile high swinging bridge". (even though it didn't swing at all. But it was the first time I saw snow. ^^ But it really wasn't snow.. just alot of ice.. :P buttt whateverrr. It was in the middle of October, so I thought it was pretty cool.

Yay, another picture!
I took this using my plastic Holga camera. It's an old manual that uses 120mm film. I had a blast using it and taking the class for it. Our teacher encouraged us to shoot a whole roll of film at a time, mostly because of the light leaks that camera is so well known for. So everything I took with this was pretty spontaneous, including this picture. I was just lying down in the grass under this tree and liked how it looked like it could just go up and up forever and you'd never know where it ended from that position.

Ok, here is mine. I took it from inside a car so it isnt that good and i didnt edit in anyway, but oh well.
Basically, i took this picture because it is really beautiful and i love how the trees just arch over the road and create a shelter kind of. I think the picture is a little bit spooky/mysterious and its even better when your in that street in real life!

Lone dead tree
Saw this on the banks of the river at Betws y Coed, North Wales in 2005. Not sure if it was a lightning strike, or because the river floods around it's base regularly.
Taken with a very old Fuji FinePix MX-1700 1.5 Megapixel camera. |

After a lot of negotiation I have been convinced to post Stix's entry for him due to a bet he made with Bettyboop as to who can stay off the site for the longest. So here it is....
Stix says: i was in italy, just bought my camera, and i've always loved silhouettes... i was in the airport, and i had like 4 hours spare so i thought i'd go take some photos, and this one was the first one i took outside the airport
