It say there all over 18 but they do look young.

Obviously we can't know their ages for sure, but a lot of them look too young to be in the pictures they are in. And maybe I'm wrong but I'd rather be wrong and get them removed rather than ignore it because I'm unsure.

I don't want to look and I definitely agree that it's better to be safe than sorry.. That ad has been there for quite awhile.

I agree because if they are under 18 the pics must be removed and if not who ever put the pics up can put them on a different site.

As much as we can't know for sure some of those girls definitely LOOK under 18, some by a very large margin. It is creepy, sends shivers down my spine.

The offending ad has been reported to depp and that site has also been reported to the appropriate authorities. Let's try and keep posts civil regardless of topic; ie. no posting guns and screaming flames. That does nothing at all in aiding stopping these issues. I'll leave the thread open for now in case any other useful information is found.

If and users come across similar ads, please report them to depp or a moderator immediately.

In regards to the fact they are 18+ ads and user can not post links. I believe, purely speculating, is the fact that most ad agencies offer either an 18+ or a PG-13 ads. I personally found the 18+ ads pay about 2 times as much, also the PG-13 ads normally lead to scam sites. I personally would rather have, non-nude, porn links for ads instead of sites that would spam my users.

Mods have zero control over ads or other site maintenance issues. Only depp can change them, and with it being the weekend, he hasn't been on yet. The proper authorities have also been notified, but getDare moderators also have no say over how and when they act.

I recall hearing somewhere in staff-land once upon a time, actually, that the issue/reason for the 18+ ads is as much getdare as it is the advertisers. I think there was a period wherein depp experimented with ordinary ad companies but found that some of them were less than willing to advertise with an adult site such as getdare.

Also I can't remember when this period was and maybe I am just making it up? The years get blurry.

(but yes, the ads are strictly neccassary for the site, ya know. continuing to run and all. getdare aint cheap!)

I could see that being a problem as well, it actually makes sense I personally have never Admin'd an 18+ site, but I know how expensive gD can be to run.
9 bucks for a domain a year, the forum software is ~$149 a year, then I have seen that depp runs gD on a dedicated server. Possibly at his home, which would be cheaper but we are still looking at ~$180 - $400 a month for that. Plus maintenance. So about $3700 a year to run the site. May not sound like a lot, but when replying on ads to get your revenue and subscriptions. It doesn't add up quickly.

I have admin'd a fairly big site before and I know how expensive it can be. Absolutley no problems with the adverts, Depp shouldn't be out of pocket..however Paedophilia is pretty much as serious as you can get and I'm sure Depp appreciates that also.
