Thank you for the interesting replies.

I just tested out gravy/custard and unfortunately that consistency doesn't really go down at all, I can't even swallow enough of it to drink a small quantity. It just sits in the pipes and becomes way too tricky.

Happy to exchange custard and gravy for other things but they have to be a simple liquid consistency so I can get them down before they inevitably erupt back out again

But you get brownie points for feedback and i see no reason not to try and work out something that is horrible but still possible for you.

I'm happy for you to dilute the gravy if you need to, or use strong oxo stock instead. Would that work?

Let me clarify 'every hour' a bit, see if that helps.
'Every hour' <> 'On the hour'.
'Every hour' = 'at some point during each hour of the clock'.
