I chose texting, IMing and emails. Letters are too slow, and I don't like talking on the phone. And smoke signals, well, I don't think either of the fire departments near me would like that.

I said texting, I don't really IM that much. Having free texts makes it a little more flexible than IMing too, although they don't work when texting people in different countries, which IM is superior for.
