After check 1

#Coming to guess with score 2, ZZYYXXWW, we know the 2 is for YYXX as Z,W not there. comparing with 4th guess of round 1 WWXXYYZZ yielding 2 we now know that out of the 2 possibilities of two being in wrong position or one being in right, one being in right is ruled out as in the two guesses X's and Y's swapped positions. So 2 of XXYY are there and none in middle 4 positions.

#IIJJKKLL with points 3 show that since L not there, at least 2 of I,J,K there

#WXYZMIJK with score 3, gets interesting from here, we know W not there, M surely there so at least 1 point for M (even if in wrong position), At least 1 point for either of IJK and at least 1 point for either of XY. Since the score is 3 it means all correct letters here are in wrong positions. among the sure letters, we know now that M is not in the 5th place (already earlier deduced not in 8th spot). Also combined with earlier deductions, only 1 of I,J,K are there but occur twice so I,I or J,J or K,K and only 1 of XY are there and occur twice so Y,Y or X,X

#the guesses that score 4 both indicate possibility of O's and P's in the code but not conclusively

#Starting with XABCDEFG giving 0 points we know X can be added to list of eliminations - A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,L,N,Q,R,S,W,X,Z. This helps us in narrowing down are previous deductions. So now we know there are 2 Y's (as X not there) and not in the middle 4 positions.

#Coming to LLJJKKLL scoring 3 and comparing with IIJJKKLL also scoring 3 we know in addition to L, I is also eliminated now. Combined with earlier deductions at the end of check 2, we can now narrow down to either J,J or K,K and scoring 3 so 1 in correct position

#Coming to guess AATUYIJK scoring 2, we know A,I are not there and exactly 1 point is for Y as it is surely there and in the wrong position as already deduced, we also know surely one of J,K are there scoring the 2nd point. thus we can say TU are not there as that should raise the score to 3 minimum. Also the right letters all have wrong positions here.

#Coming to code AAVXUXTM scoring 2, we know A,X,T,U not there, M there but not in 8th spot (already deduced) scoring exactly 1, thus the other point is for V but the wrong spot. WWVVUUTT from 2nd check also reiterates this and that V not in 3rd or 4th spot.

#TTUUXXYY scoring 3 confirms 2 Y's and 1 Y in the right spot, when combined with earlier deductions about Y, we know 1 Y in the last two spots and 1 in the first two spots

#OOPPAAAA scoring 3 shows at least 2 of them

#MYPOKKUY scoring 6 - we know M,Y,Y scored at least 1 each, (O,P) would score 1 at the minimum, thus scoring at least 4 in total. Now in the right code, either JJ in 3rd and 4th spot score 3 (as 1 is in right spot and other in wrong) or KK in 5th and 6th spot score 3 (logic discussed above). If KK were true then this guess should score minimum of 7 thus JJ is there in the code and not KK

#Till this check I had summarized all deductions in a post in this thread which were as follows:
the eight letters in no particular order are most probably Y,Y,M,V,J,J and either (O,O), (O,P), (P,P)
Y - one is in the 1st two spots and one is in the last two spots
J - one J is definitely in the 3rd or 4th spot from the left and the other J is in some other spot but not the 7th
M - not in the 5th or 8th spot
V - not in the 3rd or 4th spot

After check 4

#from PPPPPPPP we know there is only one P which scored two as definitely right position. From earlier guess OOPPAAAA scoring 3 we can now say there is 1 P and 1 O and one of them is in right place. Thus our code now conclusively involves in no order Y,Y,M,V,J,J,O,P

#From YVPJKOMY scoring 7 we know YVPJOMY are there scoring 1 each so none is in the right place. Comparing this with the earlier deduction that 1 Y is in the first two and other in the last two spots we can say for sure that the Y's are in the second and seventh spots. Also since 1 J was in the 3rd or 4th spot, we now know J is in the third spot. Similar observations are reiterated by ILOJPKMY scoring 5 and also that OJPMY all in wrong positions

#From YYJOOVMJ scoring 9 we know 5 were scored by Y(1)Y(2)J(2)OOVMJ thus remaining 4 were scored by OVMJ indicating all four in wrong positions

#from YYPMVAAA scoring 6 we know for sure Y(1)Y(2)P(1 as J in this spot))MVAAA and remaining 2 are for MV so both MV in wrong spots.

#Our code now looked _ Y J _ _ _ Y _ and concentrating on the 4th spot, we know it cannot be occupied by J,V,O,M out of possible J,V,O,M,P from deductions above thus P is in the 4th spot. We also know O and V are there in first and last spots only leaving J and M for 5th and 6th spots. Already deduced M not in 5th thus M in 6th and J in 5th.

#Our code is _YJPJMY_ with V and O remaining. From YVJOMJYO scoring 10 we know Y(1)V(1)J(2)O(0)M(1)J(1)Y(2)O(at least 1) we know the O must have scored 2 and not being in 4th position it must be in 8th position giving us the code VYJPJMYO (no "guessing")

After a couple of checks I generally scribble a small diagram instead of notes, and writing the above here was more tedious than actually solving them. Hope it was interesting. Again this was just what I did this time and there could be other shorter better ways too!

I mean, here's the math for the possible combinations for a random 8 letter password:

26^8=208,827,064,576

So initially guessing the actual password for this game is virtually impossible unless maybe you know who set the password and can guess what they would make it. But even then the chances of winning this game are next to nil.

I suppose you can slowly piece it together by waiting for the admin of this thread to let you know if you got 1, maybe 2 correct letters in the right place. But even then you might not know exactly which places those correct letters are supposed to be...making guessing the entire password correctly incredibly difficult for what it's worth.

But again this is all just my opinion. Maybe math/coding nerds actually find this sort of stuff to be fun. Personally, I hate math lol
