Block some private messages?

Hello everyone and the mods especially.

I was talking to a few of the girls here on GetDare, that were quite frustrated at the amount of private messages and private chats from people only interested in asking for a sub or dom.

I would like to suggest a simple option to solve this. The GetDare user profiles have visitor messages, and private messages and also a friends list. I think it would be a good idea to make an option (so each user can decide for him/herself) to deny private messages from users that are not on the friends list.

In other words, a stranger would then not be able to send private message. Visitor messages would still be possible. This can also apply to the private chats; only allow private chats from users listed as friends.

I hope my suggestion makes any sence, and could add to the pleasure here on getdare.

I think there is an option like this. User CP > Profile Privacy > Contact Info: Your Friends. This should be it.

Private Messaging

You may limit the receipt of private messages to just moderators and your contacts. Other members who attempt to send messages to you will be told that you have disabled private messaging.
Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators

Basically, when you become friends, you [can] also add them to a contact list too. So selecting this option should solve the problem

OK thanks, that would help out.

Would it be possible, and desired, to extend this to the chatroom? Since there are quite a few people sending messages in private chats or whispers asking for a dom or sub.
Extending the option of only including those on the contact list would help in the chat as well. Of course it's possible to ignore the people but that is not always the best way.

At the moment, I don't think so, since the chat and the regular website work differently.
