My Dad named me after the Kool & the Gang song that came out the year before.

I am named after my Mother, but go by my middle name so we both didn't turn around when called. Plus my middle name was easier for kids and everyone to say while growing up. It was more normal.

But my Mom had a pretty name. But there was only one of her...

I look like her. I miss her.

My Dad chose to name me after my mother and Joanna as my middle name.

My Mom wanted to name me Monique Michelle... or Princess.

I'm glad she loved my Dad so much to let him name me, lol

I like my name.

Being named after her is something I can never live up to, because she was the greatest truly, but it's an honor being named after the most important person to me always. And I will try my best to live up to her name and make her proud.

Also, when I was a baby my Dad would kiss my baby feet and also sing You Are So Beautiful To Me.
My Mom would sing "You Are My Sunshine" my brothers an me while growing up. Her favorite songs were Love Story and I Will Survive.

She deserved so much better than the life she had. I miss her and love her forever.
