If you haven't read "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson i'm affraid i'm going to have to revoke your Geek Licence.
Same goes for "Neuromancer", "Count Zero" and "Mona Lisa overdrive" by William Gibson.

... Really, don't get me on my high horse, i'm a voracious reader. Currently reading, and loathing, the Gormenghast trilogy, simultaneously loving the Artemis Fowl books (though the decline started at the third...) - and acting on my love-hate relationship with Anne Rice. I love her storytelling, i really do - but i want to strangle each and every one of her vampire characters. And then dance on their remains.

I have much the same love-hate relationship with Anne Rice. Interview was one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read; the prose is just amazing. And I absolutely loved Memnoch. But the whole vampire chronicles thing on the whole... got really silly and overused.

I realise it was a joke :3 Mostly I was asking to tease her ^^

You will love Snow Crash if you liked Neuromancer. It's somewhat-dystopian cyber-punk, but with at times discworldesque humor.

That depends on the submissive and situation. In a club setting i'm likely to simply introduce myself and, if i've come there alone or with a friend/partner/client who doesn't mind sharing my attention, invite them to play with me/us if there's some form of click.

I wouldn't bring any props. A Dominant's best and primary tool is their mind. In my experience, props tend to focus the conversation too much - i would prefer not to just talk about the binding or the hitting, but to cover as much ground as is appliccable.
