RayRay, as I said to Powerstrip, you need to do more than just that... the posts above have 10 songs each (barring two people I think) and each have solid reasons for each song.

This isn't a random request show, it's Desert Island Discs.

Random bands or songs thrown out will be ignored and wont be featured on the shows at all.

This episode was better than the last, well bar one dancey poppy track that was put in there. But all and all it was fun, "Die MF Die" more so, lol.

Sorta distorted, but being British i can understand ya well lol.

Unfortunately it's distorted a bit because the only way I can record is by doing so onto my (pretty old) MP3 player, based on that fact I'm pretty pleased at how it's coming out .

1. Dredg - Bug Eyes

   Having lived this song it's hard not to love and relate to it. Reinventing yourself and your beliefs comes at a tremendous cost and is not always voluntary. To me this song is about change and struggling to cope with the new world you find yourself in as a result.

2. Death Cab for Cutie - Amputations (Something About Airplanes version)

   I feel like this song was written about events in my life. I've been obsessed with the message and lyrics (and the speech that is sampled in) for a very long time now.
   

   In this modern day and age we have instant coffee and instant tea--instant disbelief. Thats the reason we will never become anything--it is because we will never believe in ourselves. We will always listen to the mass majority. If everybody's making fun of you and criticizing you, then you know you're on the right track. Cause most people ain't got it.

3. Depeche Mode - Stripped

   I take this song as metaphor. I think of it is wanting to see the person you love for who they are without the brainwashing and indoctrination of society. I think this song is enchanting in it's message and how it delivers it.

4. Frou Frou (also know as Imogen Heap) - Breathe In

   Happiness, sadness, flirting, and love. A relateable song with devilishly fun and clever lyrics.

5. Reel Big Fish - Beer

   This to me describes a painfully unhealthy relationship I struggled with just out of high school. It was a strange back and forth that ended up with us just using one another until we let the situation die off.

   It didnt matter anymore, but I say she never cared
   And that she never will, Id do it all again
   I guess Ill have to wait until then

6. The Bird and the Bee - Witch

   Reminds me of the point in a relationship where you have gone so deep you feel like your minds are one. There are no secrets. Does the other person still love me knowing all my thoughts and secrets?

7. Zero 7 - Pageant of the Bizarre

   This describes every relationship I have ever been in.

8. Incubus - I Miss You

   I'm a bit needy; this song is a bit needy. We've all been there.

9. Belle & Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister

   I love this! It speaks about some of the things I have felt.

10. Cake - Shadow Stabbing

    This speaks to me about to the frustrations I often have towards the world and people in general.

Depp has a seriously good taste in music, if only others would follow suit. I mean, Incubus, Reel Big Fish. Can't get better than that.

Annoying that Dragonator. I did try uploading it to Megaupload for anyone who prefers that, but unfortunately it went too slow, I may try doing so again in a bit. To help people out .

Interesting that Depp should mention Cake... I'd never even heard of the band until a CD swap I did on another forum just recently. Unfortunately my view of it was that I didn't like it and the background music sounded like it came from Plok on the SNES .

Though based on that reasoning you gave, I may have to see if I can play that tune regardless, lol.

I really enjoyed the 1st episode. Although I did not like all of the music, the episode had a lot of different types of music. Something for everyone, I guess.

I particularly liked "Black Strobe - I'm a Man". I haven't heard REO Speedwagon in a very long time - it was played contantly on the radio where I worked whenit 1st came out.

I'm thinking hard to come up with a list of 10 songs. But I'm working on it. Looking forward to hearing more. The show ranks right up there with other internet radio show / podcasts I've listened to.
