Yeah but I don't always want to be constantly on the look out for hiccups 24/7.
Scaring them out of me seems to always work the best for me.

For me it's usually just calming down and just 'forget' about them.
If it's someone else when they tell me I have hiccups a sure fire 'cure' I always use is to immediately throw a random question at them Them: "I have hiccups" Me: "Why?" *hiccups gone* Usually anything that interrupts that brain wave of 'normalcy' does the trick
