How do I edit a previous post??

How do I edit a post?

Go into the thread and click on edit.

The edit button disappears 4 days after a post is first made. A post title can only be edited in the first 5 minutes after posting.

So in that case, how does one go about removing certian details from a previous post that is not wanted to be seen?

Would canceling my account erase my post?
