What happened to /me?

What happened to the /me function in gD chat?
Why did it go, and will it be back?

I think depp will one day completely overhaul the chat, if I remembered correctly.

When chat was re-done the coding for that wasn't included. It has been asked for before and he said he would look into it maybe. However he also said that he would have to go though mountains of code to find it again so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I have highlighted the important sections and underlined the important word showing the major HUGE difference between what we said. :P

The problem is that the chat source code is obfuscated (they purposely made it hard to read and edit). It was very painful to do the first time.

I was working on a new chat but have become very busy these last few months. Adding back in the /me feature to the existing chat won't happen at this point unless the original author implements it. I gave him the code I came up with the first time but was brushed off and told he was not interested. :/

Your post made me smile. And this is quite a difficult feat as the majority of my time on this forum is spent face-palming or in awe of the reality of human behaviour.
