I agree there should be something that auto locks threads after a certain time. At least in certain forums.

quick answer: report them!
mods cant get to every post, so just report them. now, with you reporting gravediggers, you can stop this!

Sometimes it isn't a bad thing to bump up old threads. Some threads can still carry on just fine after a year of being dead.
Though sometimes it is entirely pointless. Like bumping a very old ad unless it's done by the OP to avoid making an additional thread.

People will read old dare posts for ideas and then try them out and add their comments to the old post, I see nothing wrong with that it gives continuity to that dare.
But bringing old ads back to life is pointless, ads should only displayed for a set time and then cleared.

A board is alive, old posts die by themselves, posts with some interests can be reactivated from time to time, nothing strange or unpleasant

Here. I think you could do with reading this for a start : CLICK ME
And on the point, I really don't see the problem with someone writing a comment on an old dare or truth thread. They still have the right to post. I think the same applies for TorD online. People should still be able to post truth and dare for people if the OP hasn't said that they want the thread closing. In the Slave/Master area, I wouldn't really class an ad from two weeks ago as old. Maybe they hadn't found anyone that appeals to them yet. I think that the OP just needs to report the thread to be closed once they have finished with it. |

I know what you mean but sometimes if I'm digging in the old posts and I want a link to the post I'll put a comment on it and access it from my statistics for easier access. It might be annoying but it's gone in like 2 days

well there is a diffrence between dares and ads... this site has been active for about 5-6 years now with many dares and truths. there is rules about gravedigging.
the reason they are not deleted is because there are good and bad posts among them. for an ad, look at when it was made (in the oarnge bar at the top of the post) then look to see if the poster actualy has recently logged in ( you can find that information on their profile) if the ad was made in 2009 and they havent logged in since sometime in 2010 then chances are quite good that they are not going to come back. hell this can be done recently, if a 18/f/slave posted 3 weeks ago, and they havent logged in since. its a dead ad.

Ads are already auto-locked after two months (maybe three, I can't remember) of inactivity.

Upon quick investigation, Ads are locked after 60 days. I counted... Yes I really have that much time.

I personally prefer people posting on old threads instead of creating the same one over and over and over and over again. The site has a search function for a reason after all
