My dad's been buying various fruits lately, can I maybe have some ideas on how to make them fun?

depends on the fruit. Some obvious answers leap to mind. One is to eat them.

As something slightly different, pick two fruits - one you like, one you don't. Sit down, and toss a coin. Heads you get the one you like, tails you don't.
