Hi! Call me Blitz. I'm a noob.
I joined exactly... 16 minutes ago. Please. Save me. What's a dare? What's a truth? Do I have to use my webcam? What is the meaning of life? Is time real? Is 2012 a myth? So, please, take a moment of your busy life to answer a few of my questions. Thank you! I love you! |

A Dare - Something that someone tells you to do, usually involving an embarrasing or sexual action that they would like you to do.
A Truth - Where someone asks you a question, and you reply (hopefully) truthfully. Webcam - Absolutely not. Since you're 16, I'd hope not, since if you used a webcam you'd probably being doing illegal activities for your age (nudity, sexual acts, etc), since your a minor. I highly advise you NOT to use a webcam. Meaning of Life - Pick your meaning. Is Time Real - Time is real, and according to Einstein's theory, time is a constant speed of 160,000 Miles Per Hour. You cannot physically go faster than this speed, as you would be breaking the light speed barrier, but the theory is you would be time traveling. Don't get me started on this shit. Is 2012 Real - I hope to God you're not an idiot and believe this bullshit that modern media has led us to believe. I'm totally unsure if you just posted in the wrong section, and if you did, this will probably get moved. Oh well. I felt obligatory to answer it anyways. And by the way, welcome to getDare! Although, you could've easily PMd almost any member and they'd answer these questions. And read the rules. Considering I think this falls under a category of "SPAM." I'm not sure though. This IS the lounge...

I love your "Is time real?" answer. I wasn't really expecting any answers to those questions, though, I just felt like the post was too short. Thanks, though! ^_^

Welcome to GD. I would suggest to everyone thats new to read the rules. It gets so fustrating for everyone especially the MODs when people dont so thats just a suggestion.
I would like to point out as well that the reason for the 2012 thing is because both the aztec and the normal calenders both start onJanuary 1st. For those that dont know, the Aztec calender is 210 days long and some other stuff as well, but thats the reason. Hope you have fun on this site, I know I have and will continue to do so, and feel free to ask me or any MOD (especially betty and angel) for advice/help if you need it, everyones happy to give it

 What's a dare? Rather personal really, usually something that deviates from the norm, societal or personal, suggested by someone else in the form of a challenge of sorts. As the norm differs from person to person, there's no real fixed definition. What's a truth? Bit too philosophical for me to answer in a short time frame :P A question is asked, and an answer is given honestly. Do I have to use my webcam? From what I understand, that's actually rather frowned upon in public discussion, whether you do or don't is ultimately your decision of course, but it should be discussed privately, without pressure, and, hopefully, after trust has been built up with someone. Though there is certainly no obligation on any level. What is the meaning of life? Meaning? I don't believe there is a meaning, meaning denotes higher purpose, and I don't believe in such. The purpose of life however? Ultimately, hedonism. Is time real? Similar to width, height, and length, yes, time is real, it's simply our measurements of it that aren't. Is 2012 a myth? Yes, the whole doomsday scenario is based upon Mayan star charts and calendars, they had a very precise method of measuring time, using stellar phenomena, eclipses, etc, etc, and their long count calendar expires in 2012. What happens when you finish a calendar? You open a new one, you don't reset the universe and start from scratch. Bit more info on the background of the myth here.

Hi BlitzMundane, the best thing is to relax and just enjoy yourself on the site and make some friends along the way. You will learn as you go, who is who and what is what on the site.
It would be best to familiarise yourself with the rules, because you don’t want to get a posting probate or anything. Oh and the mods are the ones with a red line under their name so you can easy identify them. Is time real? Well we could start a thread on the theory of everything or the unifying theorem. Just start with something simple like resolving the conflicts between relativity theory and quantum mechanics. Seriously though the site is not that difficult, it just takes a short time to get used to things and become familiar with the different sections. Use the menus to navigate around the site and examine a few posts here and there. You will probably find that there are sections you like more than others. I myself like the Lounge at this time.
