Lock on the cage and mail the key to yourself. Also, for about $13 on Aliexpress you can get a time lock that will keep the key out of reach for 99 hours.

If you want an alternative, put the key in a large bottle, fill it with water and then put it in the freezer. Once frozen, take it out and you can't unlock until the ice has thawed enough to get the key back
