Alternative to Icy Hot

In my country, as far as I'm aware, we can't get Icy Hot.
I have tried Tiger balm as an alternative but it stinks like hell and gives off on my clothes that is nigh impossible to clean.

Does anyone, preferably from the Netherlands, have any good suggestions for alternatives to this ever popular Icy Hot? Something that has the same effect and I can just buy here?

I have used that and it is indeed very painful. I know about the milk as well.

But I think it's still a very different effect than Icy Hot provides?

The main ingredients in Icy Hot are menthol and camphor, so you could always look for creams that list these as active ingredients. I'm not entirely sure what is available in your region, but if you go to the drug store (or pharmacy-style store) and look at arthritis creams, you'll probably find something suitable.

In addition, a capsicum-based cream should produce similar results. Capzasin is a popular brand in the US, but I do not know what's available in your region (looking it up was not easy

). The biggest difference here is that capsicum is what's found in hot chili peppers, whereas Icy Hot uses menthol. Capsicum may produce too much of a burn, I'm not sure (I've never experimented with it myself). This style heat will give you the deep burn that Icy Hot can't. I find that since Icy Hot relies on menthol, it's more of a topical sensation that really doesn't do much other than tingle a little. Perhaps I'm just biased against menthol though

Also, if the menthol approach is what you're most interested in, you can always try something like Vicks VapoRub ointment. That's just a mentholated ointment mostly used to help clear up stuffy noses.

Hopefully this helps you out, though I wasn't able to find a specific product available in your region.

I've never used it, but I will put Gold Bonds Anti-Itch powder on my balls while they are still damp from a shower. It gives it a nice cold burn, but it it short lived.
