A Game of Thrones

I'm on the second book, A Clash of Kings, and I'm really enjoying it, but I can't really get into the tv show.
Any other Game of Thrones fans out there?

I'm currently half way through the 5th volume. I'm also really liking it.

I have to admit that for once i thought that the tv show was very similar to the book. But you'll never have the same magic than with a book... making you dive in a new world and letting your imagination build up every detail.

Might want to stop reading the books if you like the show

I loved the first season so much that I had finished all the books before season 2 but then when I watched season 2 I was really disappointed because it was nothing like the books :P

The shows good and I love some of the actors to the point that when i read the books thouse are the faces I see, but the books are the best thing I have ever read! I love them!

It's not season 3 I'm waiting for, its The Winds of Winter!

Ps. If we get into a conversation about this can we please be mindful of spoilers as its really not fair to give anything away for thouse reading the books or that just plan on watching the tv show.

Because I've read the books first, the characters in the TV show just aren't like I pictured. Also, the acting doesn't seem to be all that great. I only watched the first 10 minutes or so of the first episode though, so it could just be me.

i've read the first 2 books and loved them. im looking forward to reading the next one. i agree with Attics that the TV show is pretty poor in comparison with the books. i've watched the first couple of episodes and really couldnt get into it, the acting wasnt great and the plot doesnt seem to work as well as it does in the books.

The series was recommended to be just before I knew it was a tv series. I ended up watching the first 4 episodes of the first season, and then checked the book out. While the book and show are close, the book is obviously much better, with more details given to answer some of the questions the show gave me.

I read the first two books, but got too busy with school once I was about 1/3 into the 3rd book. I look forward to after college graduation in December, when I have more time to finish the books that are out thus far.

Not yet. I know it's a TV show, but I've been reading the book. The book was quite boring, up until about the 100th page. Then, all of sudden, it got engrossing. I haven't read it in a few days. I seem to have lost the book in my car somewhere. >_> I need to find it.

I've read all the books- and think they are awesome. Have also seen most of the first series of the tv show- which I also think is really good, but I can't watch the last 2 episodes because I know what will happen...
