Is my popularity contest striking a nerve?

You guys need to chill out. The elite section has been around since the beginning of the site except for one year when it was closed. It was created as a place for long time users to chill. This whole argument illustrates why you were not admitted and why a special section exists. Some discussions (like this one) would just get crapped on in the public forums.
