That's not altogether true. Capsaicin binds to the VR1 ion channel-type receptor and overwhelms the nerves with a burning sensation. The nerves are then unable to report pain back to the brain. Hi Halcyon,
I learned something today. I only said what we were taught in culinary school lol, so it's kinda cool to learn that their information was faulty. I did know it was lethal in large amounts though. I'm glad someone agrees with me though lol, I felt a little out on a limb being the only one giving warnings.

Are nettles the stinging plant thing-o's? I would I always play with my cousins "captive" and it was a prisoner, and another person would torture him/her and then a different person would have to do a set of tasks to save the prisoner... and one of the torture things were the stinging plants :/ I was always the prisoner
