Being able to clear out history?

Okay, so I'm not sure if this is a problem for everyone, but I know its a problem for me. In chat, I'm getting a lot of private chat requests, and it creates a scrollbar when I go to accept, block, or skip them. My question is, Is there anyway to clear out this scrollbar so it goes back to being a regular box, and you can start "fresh"? That'd be a huge help.
