A skyline of New York City, circa 1930's. I love architectual(?) photography, and I think cities are mankinds greatest invention, just my opinion though.

I use the Canon EOS 550D but more often to shoot film than stills. I still shoot some stills but I'm only a competent stills photographer.

Let's get geekier and talk about lenses please. If you could only have one lens in the world, what would it be?

(nice camera dude !! )
As for a lens: I would love to have a macro lens as macro photography is something i love a lot. So I would have said that if it weren't for the limitations of only being able to shoot macro. So i guess it would currently just be the set lens that came with the compact.

As for more of my work moxie I'm waiting until the display night is over to be on the safe side. But I will post more soon.

That seems fair and prudent . We will look forward.

Eaurgh. I couldn't pick. I'd say, if it really came down to it - my 24-70 f/2.8L is probably - if I had only one lens to choose from the world - the one I would pick. I use it 95% of the time and I'm not usually left wanting anything more from it. It is - for me - the perfect everyday lens, which I use for everything from landscapes to portraits to architecture to artsy-stuff to model shoots. As Canon standard-zooms go - you won't find a better one anywhere.

If I had to pick one outside of what I own, I'd probably take an upgraded version of another lens I own - I'd take the 70-200 f/2.8L IS - I own the f/4 non-IS version. Does the job, and it's ridiculously sharp (I've heard from people much richer than I who have pretty much the entire L series that it's possibly the sharpest of the lot), but having the 2.8 would mean I could make the most of low-light situations where I can't use flash(es) - concert photography for example. I've run into the limitations of the f/4L a couple of times.

Or, the 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L - hired this lens out for an airshow last year. It's big, heavy, unwieldy, takes a lot of getting used to - but good god does it work. I got results with this thing that I was previously barely daring to dream about. I doubt I'd use it very often for anything other than aviation photography, but if I had to pick one zoom lens for aviation photography - this would be the one.

Or the 14mm f/2.8L II prime. Unnnnngh. Ultrawide dream. I'd love to take some landscape shots with this thing - or get some really cool other stuff - I love the distortion of ultrawides and how you can really emphasise things.

You see where this is going, I could pretty much go on, and on...lensgasm.

Best tip...rule of thirds and use a flash for people even outside in the sun.

For me yes- a really beautiful and powerful photograph can really move me. It may seem silly but it does for me. The power to move someone, provoke thought, bring a laugh or a smile to someone is part of why I love photography.

Eureka! I have finally figured out how to make my pictures appear smaller when I post them. Now I can share less annoyingly =D

Since I can only post 4 at a time I used my favorites. But you can always follow the links in my sig to check out my other work. And please don't steal any. I've run into issues like that before and it pisses me off. At least ask if you can use it.
