I would move to the EU, invest the money, and live off the interest all while wondering how I won a lottery in a place I don't live.

What would you do if you were given the chance to travel to the past (any amount of years,) but only one time for 1 hour?

I would time travel to 1997 shortly before Apple bought NeXT, and leave a post-it note on my desk instructing my past self to take out a mortgage and buy as much Apple shares as possible, and to hold them until 2017 and sell them just before an abomination called iPhone X is launched. Then I won't need to win the lottery. I'd still use Windows 10 Mobile on Lumia though.

What would you do if you read on paper that all cocoa trees are suddenly dying of a mysterious disease and that world will soon run out of chocolate?

I would probably use the forgot password feature and recover the account. Then I would check to see what damage was done to the account and see of there was anything done that I didn't approve of and fix it.

Ok here we go,

First it depends on how I got there, (shipwreck, plane crash)

In either case, I would look around the beach for supplies that survived with me. EVERYTHING would be gathered as it could be useful

After gathering everything and putting it in a secure location, I would get a lay of the land to find sources of fresh water, natural shelters, other sources of food.

Water would be the first priority as 2-3 days without water (less in a tropical environment) is death. The ideal water source is a small running stream (boil the water) followed by pools of inland fresh water. If I can't find a freshwater source in the first day, I would set out containers to collect rainwater. Also before the sun comes up, dew has settled, i can use my clothes to collect the water and wring it out later. Finally, cutting a tree limb in a downward way and tying a bag (or again clothes) would also yield some water.

Now the coconuts (brown = AVOID DRINKING the act as laxatives, green is good)

Shelter is important, that is where the lay of the land comes into play, natural caves are amazing, (if the plane or boat wreckage is usable that is first choice.) If I have to build a shelter, I would build it in an elevated position and it would be a simple A frame.

For food,
fish, bugs, clams, sea snails are all doable.
Fish- set up rocks during low tide in a V formation, when the tide comes in, fish will swim around them and as the tide goes out, they will get trapped. I could then use the fish as bait for other small creatures.
Seaweed is good for you (harvested fresh) and doesn't taste too bad. (little chewy for me normally, but we are surviving.
As for other plants only consume what I 100% know what it is, (in emergency, I would rub it on my skin, wait 30-45 minutes and see if there is a rash (rash = leave alone)

FIRE,
the brown coconut husks are very flammable and great for tinder, Focus a glass lens on the tinder and let it catch fire.

make a bow drill.

focus on the positive, (have you seen castaway?) as that is an essential to help stay sane.

I would find the widest, whitest space on the beach and, in dark rocks or other things, spell out SOS as that is universal around the world. If I was in a plane crash, the plane would have had to file a flight plan before takeoff, and a shipwreck would have its charter published in a place that could be found.

In addition, Burning wet foliage would create black smoke and (with the entire royal navy out looking for me, do you really think that they could miss a smoke stack that is miles high)

Now, What would you do if you were lost at sea in a small raft?

I would do the same as you did on the island - open my magic chest of wonders that is in the raft and transform it in to a 30 foot yacht with a swimming pool, use my algae-to-diesel converter to fuel it, and travel the seven seas in the company of a bunch of gorgeous mermaids.

If you were thinking about a small deserted island like in the cartoons, know that they are close to bigger islands (12 miles at the most) a tree can be hollowed out using the machete into a boat. follow the birds that fly around to the nearest land and get to the bigger island. what I posted is actual survival advice from experts.

As for the cold fusion, I would win a Nobel Prize and help power the world bringing cheap, clean, sustainable energy to all and undercutting fossil fuels so much that they will only be seen as foolish.

What would you do if you woke up in a real SAW predicament?
