Damn, I get it. You're right. I watched a video and with a chart, and was trying to do both simultaneously but ended up following it wrong and sounding dumb for once, lol

Still not there... Remember, the fractions are there to throw you off. It's simply of matter of tackling the problem in steps.

For example, what if you simply increase the number of hens to 15 (increase by a factor of 10) and leave the other numbers unchanged? How many eggs do you get in the 1.5 days? And then multiply that number by the factor by which the days were increased.

Sorry, I was the one who got it wrong. You got it right on the first try.

So, if you had 1.5 hens, they will lay 1.5 eggs in 1.5 days. If you had 15 hens, they will lay 15 eggs in 1.5 days. If you keep them for 15 days, they will lay 150 eggs.

I got confused by the fractions myself.

You come across a trading post in Fallout 4. You have 10 pre-war dollars. A bottle of nuka cola costs 2 pre-war dollars. You can also exchange two empty bottles of nuka cola for a full bottle, or exchange 4 bottle caps for a full bottle. How many bottles of nuka cola can you drink with the money you have?

Not sure I got it right but think you can get a max of 7 bottles, if you exchange to bottles or caps from the first ones you buy
