No, I don't waste my time giving tasks if I know a slave can't do something. The only reason I can think to do that is so you have an excuse to punish them. I'd much rather just give the punishment as a task if I wanted to make my slave do something.

It would depend on the slave. Some slaves I think respond better to a carrot rather than a stick. I'm not adverse to the idea.

Yes, it helps them deal with any guilt they may feel for disappointing you, helps you relieve any negative feelings you may have and reinforces the message you're trying to get through

If I can think of a way to make the punishment reflective of the crime I will use that but I think the primary purpose of a punishment is to reinforce to the slave that they shouldn't disobey me again.

I've made my slave post for punishments, but not because I was too lazy.

For my previous slave I believe asking her to reveal to a friend that she was owned by a Master was the hardest thing for her. I could be wrong, I don't think it was too harsh.

I haven't gotten any to drop limits, I have however managed to help them through things they thought they couldn't do.

I'm partial to Ice cubes and clothes pegs since they're simple, generally readily available and in my opinion less intimidating than a lot of other tasks.

I ask a lot of questions and make my slaves give a lot of detail but only things that are pertinent. What they had for breakfast (unless I've taken control of their diet) is not pertinent.

No. That sends the completely wrong message. It would have a severe negative impact on the training in my opinion.
