What do mods have to do?

The title tells you what the questions is. What exactly are the duties of being a mod? This is what i have thought of so far:

To delete or edit posts that break the rules.
To move posts to the correct sections.

I cant really think of anymore

They also need to look at the reported threads and posts and take appropriate action, and also need to enforce the 18+ rules and whatnot. Without the mods things would be a lot more hectic around here.

What don't they do?
They stop this site from becoming a dumping place of spam and idiotic rubbish.
They stop possible paedophiles, annoying trolls and make sure people stop making stupid and irrelevant threads. They stop harassing and arguments which result in insults.
And probably much, much more I haven't thought of.

They also have to talk about ways to improve the site, what works what doesn't. Work on rule changes as needed also.

Yeah I can imagine the rules always have to change because people always bring some new way to do something dumb that ins't on the rules yet.

More off topic, but I believe it is to remove the temptation to come back most of the time. Most people, after trying to quit, just come back again and lurk or post. By having their accounts banned there is no temptation to even come near the site really.
