What if I don't want to be a distinguished member?

Ok I've noticed a lot of people in their profiles that instead of saying what type of member they are they say something. Like for example over ManBearPig's it says "Yes, I'm a mod" instead of ______Member. I hope that makes sense at what I'm conveying at. How exactly do you change that?

To have your own custom message, you need to be a mod or a paid subscriber.

Ok thanks for letting me know, I'm obviously not a mod nor do I have the money to pay for a subscription. Guess I'll just stay a Distinguished Member then.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know how many posts are needed for each membership level? Like it is junior member, member, senior member, distinguished member and then what?

I don't remember having half of them! Maybe that was during my subscription period when I could choose my own, and I bypassed 'em?
