What makes you talk with someone?

So the major aspect of this site is interaction with other people, finding others for fun, to explore or just make some kinky friends...but I'm curious:

What makes you message someone?
If someone messages you, what makes you decide to respond?
What kind of conversations do you like?
Essentially...when it comes to communication, what are your likes/dislikes and limits? Haha

Myself, well I don't message people as often as I used to, and normally only engage with certain factors met about a persons profile:

What I look for before messaging:

- Interesting about me section
- Compatible list of likes/dislikes
- cute profile picture (although most likely not the actual person) can be a factor
- I see the kind of posts a person has made and see how they write
- Cool list of PM dares
- Physical descriptions which sound like my type of girl

What I look for in responding to messages:

- similar to the above
- the quality and tone of the message
- how fun the sender sounds, i.e. What I can see from their personality

What puts me off responding:

- Guys messaging
- a message that demands anything of me, or asks anything from me that I am not keen to do or provide, or seems excessive for the amount I know that person
- messages from women who do not meet my physical type (sorry just being honest)
- rude or condescending messages

kind of conversations I like:

- Open and understanding, without worrying about saying the wrong thing
- Playful, I do enjoy teasing with girls
- longer messages where it looks like the other party is actually interested in getting to know me, or makes an effort in conversation
