I found this show on the Discovery channel called Naked And Afraid where for 21 days a man and woman are put in the wilderness naked (they blur out any sensitive bits)and have to survive with no supplies or anything, having the make everything themselves.

My question to you, GetDare-ers,

Would you go on Naked And Afraid?

If not for free (as the show doesn't award any monetary prizes or anything if they survive the full 21 days, as far as I know) how much would you have to be paid to go on it?

If you answered yes to going on, would they have to blur your genitals out, or would you be okay with doing it completely uncensored, with the possibility that among the millions who may watch, family and friends may watch and see your private areas as well? (Note that you can, and most of the contestants do, create makeshift clothing such as loin clothes, so nudity is pretty much optional depending on your skills)

I would do it without any censorship (even though if its discovery they would have to) as long as i had some times to prepare and gain some more skills in survival.

Yes I would go on naked and afraid and you would not need to blur anything out as I don't have a problem with being seen naked as I am a nudist and a exhibitionist . I would probably be able to survive better than most as I spent the first 20 years of my life in Africa and a lot of time in the bush so learnt a lot about what to eat and not to eat make shelter etc .

I've seen a few episodes of this show. Thought it would be interesting to be on. If I had the time to take a few weeks for something like this, I probably would seriously consider applying.

You might not get paid by the show for winning. But if you do win, along with bragging rights, you probably do end up with some appearance fees on various shows. Not sure how much that amounts too.

For the blurring question, I think they really should make an uncensored version available in an adult verified section online. And maybe partner with someone like HBO where the uncensored version can be aired. And of course in that case, no blurring. Not like the blurring leaves much to the imagination, but it does ruin it a little for the viewer.

Since the name is Naked and Afraid, I think they should ban makeshift clothing. If participants make and wear any they should be disqualified. It's fine for things to keep them warm and night to use as blankets and stuff, but if you made it on the show, stay naked...

I've seen that show quite a few times! It's a really interesting concept, and I would definitely do it just for the experience and bragging rights. It shouldn't be censored, although depending on the location I'd be in I would maybe make some sort of covering if needed. It'd be quite an amazing experience I'd think.

It really says something about humanity that being left completely defenceless in a deadly wilderness to try and survive is less of a big deal than a part of a person's body being shown.

I wouldn't sign up for it because the survival aspect sounds terrifying ... maybe if I could have shoes v.v At the same time it's a really interesting concept, wondering how well you'd survive such a situation.

Censoring it is stupid, but then it is American TV, where everything is always censored and all tension is spoiled by pre and post commercial break voiceovers.

The first rule of survival is to be dressed for the enviroment you are going into. Being naked, and having no tools shows the people who are on the show lack even basic understanding of what survival is about.
As you may guess, I'm not a fan.
