Has anyone started, or, indeed, finished, their Christmas shopping yet?

I've pretty much done mine, with just the basics left to get - giftwrap, tags, confetti, etc.

I've got most of mine I start looking around September, though I don't buy for millions so it isn't that bad. I like it when your all done and dusted a few weeks before Christmas so I can avoid the town centre.

Started. Issue is though so many birthdays are before christmas still.

Ha my oldest birthday is December 1 then my next two boys are both in January. I still haven't figure out what all they want

Haven't even started yet....I've got a list of ideas for people, but as far as going out and actually procuring presents, I have yet to begin.

Normally I don't even start thinking about it until thanksgiving, but yeah, maybe I should start on it.

I do it because I get double discount where I work, plus I'm excited, plus I beat all the last-minute crowds in town. Plus, I'm just well-prepared. The only time of year I plan in advance.

Most of the time I wait until the week before. My birthday is the 12th of December, so Christmas time doesn't really start until after that for me. :P

So it seems indeed... ;-)

They are called "Zwarte Piet" (Black Pete?), and they supply the gifts, by climbing down chimneys (how original...).

Besides that they have a "roe" (don't know the English word, but basically something to spank the kids) - and if they aren't nice they go back with Sinterklaas to Spain.

I guess the fun stuff is that he brings all the good kids gifts!

Eh, describing it here, it more sounds like a bad horror movie then an actual kids celebration-thingy!

It's traditional for our naughty teenagers to go to Spain and get caned too. Not at Christmas though.
