Award Star Karmic Koala - why everyone should use it

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala is the new Ubuntu released on last October.
It is just so COOL.

Why you should get it:

1) it just works, no more annoying errors or unknown problem by windows.
2) no more viruses.
3) its really FAST. really
4) it is free.
5) its updated about once per week.
6) easy to use (more than previous releases).
7) eyecandy effects - cool.

You can use it in many ways:

-running the live CD without installing it anything
-installing it INSIDE windows (not recommended, windows would mess ubuntu)
-installing it aside windows, by dual boot
-installing it in another HD

I <3 Ubuntu!
Only problem is that it has steep learning curve for beginners.

I too am a huge fan of ubuntu but the 9.10 release just frustrated me. Among the issues I had was the fact that pidgin decided that it wouldn't log in, and the computer would just lock-up whenever I tried to wake it from screensaver - which ubuntu shouldn't do, I left windows to get away from computers that lock-up. In the end I decided it was easier to go back to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron which seems to run faster on my quite old machine, than to spent a lot of time troubleshooting all the issues I was having.

Yes, Ubuntu is derived from Debian Linux.

The 9.10 comes with great changes, this is why some people may prefer to remain with older releases. The default messenger in 9.10 is Empathy, but i personally prefer Pidgin

and for screensavers, well power management in ubuntu it's always been a weak point (hibernation works well, but not the same for standby)

And Depp is right, thats why i think its better to try it from time to time, learning few things at once, like my father and brother did.
