Factually correct, incorrect statement

Okay here's an idea for a lounge game.

I shall make a factually correct statement. The person below me shall tell me why my factually correct statement is wrong, using absolute non-sense. Than provide another factually correct statement and the person below explains why it is wrong using non-sense and than provide their own factual statement and so on and so on.

ex. Factually correct statement: The earth evolves around the sun.

Non-sensical logic: No it doesn't, because cheese + 2 = Alec Baldwin, or "No it doesn't it! because John Kerry won 3 purple hearts in Nam!"

The point is to be as silly as possible. Obviously lets avoid racial and sexual discrimination, but we're all adults so I think we can do that!.

So I shall go first:

Australia was originally a prison colony for the British empire.
