This is a mini poem I wrote for a mini competition on love. Incase you can't read the writing, it says:
My TEARS
My KISSES
My LOVE
For YOU
It was meant to show how although it seems like you might be giving everything in a relationship, there is a good reason for it all.

I thought about a good symbol for love besides hearts. So I bought a bottle of rainbow bubbles, because they are very tender and vulnerable, like love is… Also they have all colors of the rainbow and make happy

Then I walked to the next park, where I searched a tree for my photo. Trees are savage (which also can be part of love) and they are rooted and keep you grounded and shelter, like love should do.
I used some red ribbon to knot to the branches of the tree. Red is the color of the love and these ribbons were blowing in the wind and looked very lovely

Originally I thought about a person to sit in the branches, but I only found a tree to lean on the branches, like someone would do to think about his love.
Then I wanted this person to blow bubbles to show the light heartedness of someone in love. Also the bubbles can be understood as dreams the person let fly out into the sky…

Luckily the sun was shining, but unfortunately there was no girl nearby to ask if she would model for the photo, so I had to take it by using the self-timer

Almost everyone likes sweet things be it cake, sweeties or cherry pie. So let your photographic sweet tooth run wild and have fun. There is sooo much to choose from so let your imaginations run wild and your taste buds tingle.

Things to consider in your shot:
Colour & Composition
Originality

Again a reminder of the point scoring....
2 points for posting an image
2 points for an explanation of why you took it.
5 runners up
10 winner.

1. Under NO circumstances, no if’s, no but’s no aww but pleases, No inappropriate photographs, all photographs MUST be PG13.
2. All photos must be placed in this thread to be considered.
3. You have 1 week to submit your photograph for each title, after this time your entrance wont be counted but may still be charged.
4. Still no inappropriate content.
5. My word is final, you don’t like how i chose then tough.
6. Photos all should be your own work taken on a camera. Using a search engine to find one kinda defeats the point a little. However they may be edited.
7. All photos must be recent. Taken within a month of weeks entry

The closing time for this entry is Tuesday 22th February at 11pm GMT. (UK time) at which point I will post the next weeks challenge. The winner will be announced on Wednesday 23th.

I <3 skittles, they're so colourful! I was going to colour splash it, but I accidentally did 2 oranges instead of a green, because I'm colourblind, but I think the full colour one is just as good!

I was going to do this one on skittles too, but stix beat me to it :P
so I did it on my second most favorite candy, GUMMY CANDY!
I loved how the darker background contrasted with the bright candy colours, and how the sugar crystals sparkle under the light... I slightly edited this photo so that it had a warmer background, which gives a happy feeling to the picture, just as candy would.
At first, I was going to do a picture where the whole frame would be filled with candy, but then thought better of it, as the large ammount of candy would most likely overwhelm the frame and cause toothaches

So I haven't done this in a couple of weeks and I think Star will shout at me if I don't this week! Mine is again very amateur, and I can't match up to the amazing pros. I'm not sure where i got the idea from, but i applied 2 shades of eyeshadow to my lips and photographed them whilst eating the candy, which is actually harder than it sounds! It was meant to display the "fun" side of sweets, i would have liked it to have been a bit brighter but i didn't want to just colour splash it, so stuck to the colours of the shadows

I was going to do an awesome image with haribo and chocolate buttons. But, I did not anticipate that even with a closed packet if you leave them lying around in my house they end up being eaten

Not theirs and they know it isnt why munch them. So instead I've had to move on to these, I love custard creams though, and the gold plate leaves a nice reflection.

My photo was a little difficult to get having been on vacation for the last week until tommorrow. However an opportunity arose a couple of days ago while on Kitt Peak in southern Arizona. I thought this artwork by the Tohono O'odham Indians looked like a rather large, decorated donut. To spice it up I thought I would put myself in the middle of it, if only because I have always been sweeter than a cherry pie.

So technically I did not click the photo, but I was able to stage it without telling my sister what the photo was for.

Sweetie in sweets:

My idea was to take a photo that deals with two meanings of “sweet”:
On the one hand there are candies which are sweet and on the other hand there is a girl that is sweet.

Once when I was in town I saw there this candy string, so I went to town to buy it. At home my gf then had to wear it

A sweet girl in pants made of sweets. – I think that is really sweeter than a cherry pie

Colour splash
So it is 5 weeks into the competition now... So I am going to push you all a little bit, challenge some of you, and educate also. The image below is an example of colour splash photography, and requires editing to achieve.

Now before you all begin to panic, I have made a presentation to explain how to colour splash for those not already familiar with the techniques involved. just to try and give a better field of play. So for the advice presentation click here As this is a challenging title there are more points up for grabs.

Things to consider in your shot:
closeness and quality of image
appropriateness and effectiveness of the edit
general image quality (Ie: lighting colour and composition)

Again a reminder of the point scoring....
5 points for posting an image

2 for including a screen shot of the editing process.
