if you round up to whole numbers that would be 1 since you look at the number after the one you round up to. you dont round 1.45 up to 1.5 and then again to 2

Read this sounds like a fun start of an idea, think should add too it some more. Maybe a way for slaves to try and escape, say if their master is horrible/inactive they post on here they wish to try an escape. If their master doesn't catch them in the act in say 24h then you roll a dice. You could have a 1 in 6 chance to escape and the other 5 be bad outcomes within their limits.

No offense at all, but I personally find this needlessly complicates things a bit. All in all this thread is pretty much a fancy way to pair up Masters and slaves. No need to load it up with all kinds of rules and procedures.

In any case, if a Master remains inactive for a long period of time with no word to his or her sub, then that's their loss. I don't see why the sub should have to work to escape from an owner with poor communicative skills.
