Finding clothes on the roadside is sometimes exciting, especially jeans or trousers but even more especially someone's underwear, because it means, presumably, that somebody hurtling 60 mph or so stripped or was stripped out of his underwear and may still be naked wherever he is.

Also: fiction about men undressing almost never spends enough time on the underwear. It wouldn't kille the authors, you know, to spend some time on the type/shape/color of the underwear, how it looks on the subject, or to do a bit of lingering on the embarrassment of the subject as that article comes off, or even how they look lying on the floor. Not all of that would have to be in every story, mind -- but at least one of those details in most of them would make them better. Much better.
