You say it like he did it every episode/story just coz. He didn't. It was merely a quirk, in much the same way that Tom offers everyone a jelly baby, or that Seven manipulates people. And it was different; it showed this old looking man was still quite young and energetic and alien.

02. My Favourite / Least Favourite Companion
A shortlist of my favourite companions. Ian and Barbara, Sarah and Harry, Romana II and K9, Ace, Series One Rose and Jack, Donna, Wilf, and Rory. And my least favourite... Adric comes close but it's definitely Dodo. |

03. My Favourite / Least Favourite Villain
I've had to think, for this one, because I've come across some baddies who would fit under the 'villain' title as well as the 'monster/alien' title which will be discussed tomorrow. So, for example, I wanted to say the Absorbaloff for my least favourite villain (it works because he starts out humanoid and is the single example we've seen of his species), but would others consider him more of an evil alien, rather than a villain? But it's a vague argument that needs no more discussion, so I'll move on. (Actually, there's a Wikipedia page for Who villains, and then another for creatures and aliens, so I'll use those as a guide.) My favourite villains, shortlisted, are... (read more) |

I'd say a Villain would have to be either Human or Timelord in honesty.

Sorry to pop back a topic, but is anyone else hoping that the mid season break, and the start of Torchwood isn't coincidental and that we're going to get some sort of crossover?
The timings that the BBC had for it to begin with make this seem a little unlikely, but still, It'd be good to see them back together again!

04. My Favourite / Least Favourite Monster/Alien
I haven't seen the Zygons, before anyone asks why I didn't immediately pick them as my favourites This is a tough one because there are so many choices. And I'm rather an eccentric fan, so I tend to like the silly monsters too. For example, I adore the Monoids and the Kandyman (though I've only seen snippets of the latter in action), and I even have a soft spot for the Nimon. But then there are the actual greats; the Mara, Daleks, the Cybermen, the Sontarans, the Malus, the Mechanoids, the Silurians, the Sea Devils, the Ood, the Wirrn... the list goes on. However, I have to go with some of the top baddies; the ... (read more) My review of "The Awakening" is here. And some more thoughts on Moffat's story arc. Quote:

Torchwood: Ten Teasers
Torchwood: Miracle Day premieres on July 8 on Starz in the US and on July 14 on BBC One in the UK. 1. There's a cheeky reference to a deceased former Torchwood member (and no, it's not Ianto). Spoiler:
Jack goes by the name of Owen Harper.
2. The chief villains from Torchwood: Children of Earth also get a mention, in a roundabout sort of way. 3. "The Founding Fathers had me in mind when they wrote the Constitution, don't you think?" 4. At one point, Rex makes a less than graceful escape. 5. "She should have run faster." 6. A certain drug familiar to Torchwood fans is utilised once again. Spoiler:
Retcon.
7. "First sign of trouble, you go running off with Captain Jack B*llocks." Spoiler:
Rhys, maybe?
8. Wales is the British equivalent of New Jersey. 9. "I've got to *** for this ******?!" 10. After lurking in the shadows for a while, Captain Jack makes a suitably heroic return. ------------------------------------------------------------- Here are ten teasing lines of dialogue from the opening episode... ‘It’s not “touch wood”; it’s Torchwood.’ ‘Warfare’s even worse when the soldiers refuse to die.’ ‘How do you investigate something that isn’t happening?’ ‘The Founding Fathers had me in mind when they wrote the Constitution, don’t you think?’ ‘What are you feeding her – lard?’ ‘They brought me in as an expert, but I don’t know what the hell it is.’ ‘Don’t follow us. Don’t even try. We just want to be left alone.’ ‘What if you detach the head? Would he stay alive without his head?’ ‘Anyone who worked for Torchwood was killed in action – and they died young.’ ‘Owen Harper, FBI!’ |

From the latest DWM...
"What can the faithful readers of DWM look forward to?" RTD: "Ianto Jones is mentioned and mourned. A clever TARDIS reference by Jane Eperson. The Doctor is discussed at a crucial stage in New York. Someone says huon partials. Something was salvaged from Cardiff. There's even a quick battle against Sarah Jane's arch enemy!" And a piece from an interview in "The Guardian" with RTD... However, at one point, he suggests this series of Torchwood may be his last. "In theory I could have handed it over to a bunch of strangers and said good luck to them – and if there was another series I might do that because I think there's only so long you can spend doing Torchwood." And how long is that? Davies almost immediately backtracks. "I say that," he laughs, "I start the series and I think, I'm never doing this again." But then he relives his brilliantly theatrical response last weekend in Swansea, his hometown, when looking at an edit of the last episode of the show, which this series has lost a lot of its monsters in favour of a longer, more conceptual story arc. "'It's so marvellous! It's so marvellous!'" he laughs again. "It's hugely exciting and I've got to do this again. I've got one more story that I can tell – just one more that has Gwen right at the centre of it – that would be fantastic. So I'm my own worst enemy." |

Favorite Monster/Alien: Though there are a few i love i'll pick an obvious one because to be frank there are a lot I'd forget if i just list them. The obvious one i love most is the CyberMen. I don't know why. I think it's the fact they use logic and it never ever works.
Least Favorite Monster/Alien: There are even more i think that i dislike. Though i would say either the Absorbalof was pretty bad along with the modern Nessine Conciseness. Again to many to pick thee worst one so i'll leave it at that. TORCHWOOD Spoiler:
Naked gay according to an interview from John Barrowman.
Also along with everybody unable to die Jack is now mortal.

05. My Favourite / Least Favourite Master
I have a fondness for most of the Masters but I can easily pick my favourite. Camp, over the top, bizarre schemes, and a fetish for dressing up for no apparent reason whatsoever. It can only be... Favorite Master: John Simm with his quirckyness or Roger Delgado for his smooth attitude.
Least Favorite Master: Anthony Ainley story line to get his body i felt was like so as a Master he was poor but apart from that he was quite good. Eric Roberts however was a complete mess i found. The Terminator Dracula look just didn't go down too well.

06. My Favourite / Least Favourite Series
To be fair with this, I'm only going to pick between seasons I've fully seen. So, in order, these are the seasons I've watched in their entirety: 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31. (Not gunna count Season 32 as we're only half way through it.) Out of those, then... (read more) |

Technically you did say SERIES.
Favorite: Series 2, I felt it was the making of Tennent. Although some of the storey lines were bad i did see my first Cyberman and The battle of Guny Warf. It set up Torchwood which is fantastic. However series 6 if it continues on course will bullet to number one Series. Least Favorite: Series 3, Wether it was Martha or wether it was something completely different this just felt all over the place and well 'Ood'. The two parters were very very weak. The single episodes again barely stood up. I think i only really liked 'Smith & Jones'. 'Utopia' and 'The Sound Of Drums' the only ones i'd watch willingly.
