An interesting alternative could be instead of reading 200 pages just try to read a certain amount of chapters... out loud!

A slight alternative suited to master/slave or two people positions:
After reading the book, the master will quiz the slave (who has the ginger inside them) on the book, if the slave gets all the questions correct, then (s)he can continue to the rest of the dare, otherwise (s)he must read the book again or another book, and get quized again.
