NHL Playoffs Challenge

In honor of the Stanley Cup Playoffs starting on Wednesday night, I'd like to put together a little challenge for any of my fellow hockey fans on Getdare (of course, you can choose to play even if you're not a hockey fan).

The rules are simple, post in this thread to sign up for the game by choosing one of the 16 playoff teams to claim as "your team" for the game. (Each team can only be claimed by one participant, so you'll have to choose another if someone gets your favorite first).

Over the course of the playoffs, any time another team scores a goal against "your team", the participant who claimed that team gets to give you a rule. Rules can be anything the other person wants, as long as they're within your limits. All rules remain in place for the length of the series between two teams. Once the series is over, the player that claimed the winning team is free from all their rules; but the player that claimed the losing team must continue to follow their rules until the playoffs are over. As an added bonus, players who have claimed winning teams can force the player they beat to follow any rules (within limits) that they receive in subsequent rounds.

Here's an example:

Round 1: The Jets, claimed by Bob, are playing the Canucks, claimed by Tom.

Game 1 is 2-1 in favor of the Jets. Bob gets to create two rules for Tom (e.g. No wearing male underwear; No masturbating) and Tom gets to give Bob a rule (e.g. You can only cum from anal stimulation). Bob and Tom must follow these rules until either the Jets or the Canucks win the series.

Now suppose the Jets go on to win the series in Game 5. Bob no longer has to follow any of the rules that Tom created for him, but Tom must continue to follow all his rules until the Stanley Cup is won.

Round 2: The Jets play the Avalanche, claimed by Larry.

Game 1 is 1-0 in favor of the Avalanche. Larry gets to give Bob a rule, which Bob must follow for the length of the series. However, Bob can also choose to make Tom follow this rule, since Bob's Jets beat Tom's Canucks in a prior round.

And so on and so forth until someone wins the Stanley Cup.

In the event that rules conflict, rules that stem from someone scoring against your team take precedence over rules that stem from someone scoring against the team that beat yours in a prior round. Beyond that, newer rules always take precedence over older ones.

So if you're interested, claim a team! You can sign-up any time between now and the start of the first game on Wednesday night (or until all 16 teams are claimed).

To start us off, I'll be claiming my Montreal Canadiens.

Alright, so at the very least, we have two first-round match-ups set.

Updating one rule when it comes to claiming teams:

If any teams are still unclaimed 6 hours before the first puck drop of the playoffs, players are allowed to claim an additional team. Your first additional team should be in the opposite Conference of your original claim. If anyone gets a third team, they should pick one from one of the two remaining quadrants of the bracket (so two of your teams can't meet until Conference Finals). We want everyone to have a match-up, but we also want to avoid one player owning both teams in a series as much as possible...
