Nuclear Getting Down with Pee and Poop

Getting Down with Pee and Poop
An Educational Guide to Watersports and Scat Fetish Safety

Two of my favorite kinks since I was a teenager just beginning to discover sexuality have been watersports and scat. While the majority of the vanilla public was exposed to this by way of 2 Girls, 1 Cup, I found out years prior that I liked it (quite a lot). Still, it took years for me to get past the porn phase to actually incorporating it into my play routine. My fetishes have developed significantly over time, but one could say that scat and watersports were my first, and still one of my most beloved.

Scat, and to a lesser extend watersports, get a bad rap, even in the fetish community for a myriad of reasons. “It’s too extreme”. “It’s disgusting”. “It’s unhealthy.” None of these are necessarily false either. The purpose of this guide is to separate fiction from reality, and lay out what you need to know if you wish to explore these fetishes. To preface it all, I want to point out that I am not a doctor or other medical professional, and the information found on here is through my own experience and research. Always keep a critical mind when it comes to your safety and well-being.

What is Scat?

When we talk about scat, we are talking about the biological process of defecation (elimination of solid waste from the human body), the human-waste byproducts of this mechanism, and the sexual play with it. Colloquial terms for scat include: poop, crap, shit, caca, and in fetish circles, caviar and mud. I like to think of scat as an overarching kink theme, incorporating many different aspects. Some people enjoy taking and releasing enemas (inserting liquids into the anus). Some like to play with their poop and smear it on themselves. Some like to lick their feces, and some even eat it! Throughout the guide, when I specify a certain risk or tip for scat play, I will also specify with what it applies to. There are risks associated with enemas that eating scat does not pose, and vice versa.

The biggest risk associated with scat is disease. Your gut is full of bacteria, which is necessary for your wellbeing and digestion when it is in your gut. When you poop, some of this bacteria comes with it. Most of it is harmless, but some of it can cause us some issues. One of the biggest disease transmission routes is the fecal-oral route. That is to say, if there is a harmful bacteria present in your feces and you eat it or otherwise ingest it, that bacteria can be harmful to you.

The most well known of this is E. Coli. It helps the body absorb Vitamin K when it is in your intestines. If you ingest E.Coli in a large enough quantity, it can give you abdominal cramps, diarrhea, vomiting and fever. While it may not kill you, it can make you pretty miserable and require treatment. Some rare strains of it can cause gastroenteritis, urinary tract infections, neonatal meningitis, hemorrhagic colitis, and Crohn's disease.

Your body is more adapt at fighting germs it is familiar with. This is one of the reasons our gut bacteria doesn’t hurt us. That isn’t to say you can’t get sick from your own poop, but that it is a lot more difficult. Usually when someone is playing with their poop, they do so soon after defecating. It is not recommended to play with poop that has been outside of the body for a few hours or longer, as the risk of bacteria growth increases.

I would personally not recommend scat play with a partner. You body inherently does not know their specific strains of gut bacteria and it poses an additional risk. Additionally, your partner may carry specific diseases that can be transmitted. Other diseases that can be transmitted via the fecal-oral route include: diarrhea, typhoid, cholera, polio and hepatitis. Most of these are vaccinated against in the US, but if you are playing in another country you may be at greater risk. If you do play with a partner, ensure that they are healthy, and that their feces appear healthy. That means don’t play with a partner unless their poop is normal looking and solid. Never play with someone with obvious diarrhea.

Typically, there is no risk of disease if you are not putting poop in or around your mouth. Smearing poop on your body is relatively harmless, but putting it in certain areas carries risk as well. You will want to avoid any breach in your skin. This means avoid your mouth for the reasons stated before. Other areas include your nose and ear and especially your eyes. Do you want pink eye? Because that’s how you get pink eye.

Be careful of any open cuts or wounds on your body. Fecal matter can get in the bloodstream and spread the bacteria around your body which is not a good time to be had. I highly recommend keeping poop away from your genitals. It’s not as big of a risk for persons with a penis as it’s difficult to get poop in your urethra (hole at the tip of the penis), but for persons with vaginas, it’s dangerous. Not only can poop get into your urethra, but if it gets into the vagina it can cause issues with your PH and complicate a lot of functions. If poop gets near the urethra you can almost guarantee you will get a UTI. Not life threatening but painful and annoying as hell. I recommend cleaning yourself thoroughly, especially your hands, after playing or touching scat.

Finally, we get to enemas. Enemas on their own are safe and effective ways to cleanse the bowels and relieve constipation. The two main concerns with enemas are frequency and type of liquid. You will not want to do more than two enemas a day usually. There is a risk of incontinence if you do it too frequently. Also, if you are holding enemas, your intestines rapidly try to absorb liquid. If you are doing a water based enema, you will want to add some salt to the mixture. This will prevent the rapid absorption of water. I’ll talk more about it in the watersport section, but you want to do everything to avoid water intoxication and dehydration.

You also want to be safe when choosing what liquid to use for your enema. I personally always stick with water, milk, and occasionally piss, though many people opt for more “punishment” style enemas incorporating soap, hot sauce, hot or cold water, honey, ginger, or others. I don’t have the knowledge to go over what is and is not safe, but I urge you to look it up before you do something knew. When in doubt, remember to never put something up your ass that you wouldn’t put down your throat. Keep it food grade and safe. I would avoid any water that is too hot as well as you can seriously burn your intestines which is just terrible.

To recap: Scat is usually harmless to handle, though keep it away from any opening in the body, and wash your hands afterwards. If you plan to taste or consume scat, know the risks. Use caution when playing with a partner, and known their disease status. Play with enemas in moderation and keep the contents food safe! Doing all this will minimize your risk of injury and maximize your enjoyment!

What are Watersports?

Watersports is like a cousin to scat. Scat is #2, where watersports are #1. It’s pee, plain and simple. Urination is the biological process of eliminating liquid waste from the body, with urine being the byproduct of this mechanism. It’s colloquially referred to as pee, piss, and in fetish circles, nectar or golden nectar. Watersports refers to all aspects of pee play. This can range from holding your bladder for extended time, to golden showers (peeing freely on your body), to drinking urine. Again, there are risks for some that are not present for others, so we will look into this as well

The biggest risk with watersports comes again from play with another partner. If urine gets into a mucous membrane (mouth, eyes, anus, etc) then it can potentially pass on sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs). It is important to know your status and your partner's status if you plan to consume another’s urine.

Many people believe that urine is sterile, however this is not the case. Remember, it is a waste product of the body. Your kidneys and other organs filter out everything that your body can use and this is what remains. Just like with feces, micro bacteria can be found in urine. From the research I’ve done the bacteria found is mostly harmless. Some cultures throughout history have advocated drinking urine for health benefits. While I think that there is no truth to that, I don’t think pee can make you ill, and I never have gotten sick in my years of drinking it.

A word of caution is to be careful when combining elements of BDSM with watersports. Because it is a liquid, it poses a risk of drowning if your movement is restricted and your head is submerged in a bucket of piss. Just wanted to put this here real fast.

With urine play, many people will also take part in Omorashi, or bladder desperation. In order to pee, you need to drink water or other liquids. It can be a rather bittersweet feeling to feel your bladder getting fuller and fuller and not being able to piss. Usually what results is you either run to the bathroom, failing a challenge, or you wet yourself. One problem with this though, is that some people are extra good at holding their pee, but not because they have a “stronger” bladder or something, but because they have a stronger mental hardiness. Thus they may not recognize the fact that your bladder is surprisingly small and holding too much for too long risks rupturing your bladder. The body is simply not meant to hold for hours and hours. For safest play, you should be aiming at being very uncomfortable, but not being in pain.

The other major risk with urine play is water intoxication. We need water to survive. Too much water can kill us though. I’m not talking about drowning, I’m talking about your cells bursting because they are too saturated with water. I can’t give you an estimate of how much you should drink or not drink, because everybody is different. I urge you to pay attention to your body and what it tell you. If you start to feel sick while drinking water to prepare for a hold, stop immediately. Some other signs are headache, personality changes, changes in behavior, confusion, irritability, and drowsiness.
