Gender indicator on tord chat

It would be great if there was some indicator of sex on the little mini profile that pops up when you click someone's name in the chat

Only if it's optional. I'd rather have people get to know me than make assumptions about me as a person based on a boy or girl symbol on my chat thing.

Bumping for support. This is especially useful in cases where guys use pictures of girls as their avatar or have a an opposite gender or gender neutral name.

It would make it less awkward when determining wether or not to strike up a game of truth or dare. And make me seem like less of a dick for ending the chat if they happen to be male with a female looking avatar or username...

completely agree with this idea...

except we all know that people lie alot on these forums and there's no verification of such a thing so it still could be a false profile

I, too, support the idea of being able to see gender in chat. However, my suggestion is to make the names of the males blue, and the females pink.

Ok also then what about transgender or gender queer people what color would our names be?

I dont think we should have the names different colors, but I think as long as the mini profile said male, female, transgender, unknown, gender queer, or whatever, it would work.

Purple? Orange? Yellow? Pink with green stripes! Whatever you like, really. It was the concept that I was promoting, after all - an immediate visual clue.

While the idea is fine, as far as I'm aware the issue of this is to do with chat being a separate program to the actual forum. Obviously there is some crossover with accounts, etc. but I'm not sure if it's possible to show genders.

If it is possible then depp would have to be the one to implement it.
