Travelling Australia for the next few years

Hey all, I am going backpacking through Australia for the next few years at the end of the month. I was wondering to see if anyone has any tips? For backpacking or places to go and things to do in Australia.

Good choice

Adelaide has heaps to do at the right times, Clipsal, Womad, Food and Wine Festivals, The wine regions, The mid north and down south and the fleurio peninsula.

i'd like to go but a plane ticket one)way is $2500USD and is a 22 hour flight. i doubt i would be in a good mood when i landed... have fun man!

cbtslave4u2, shop around. You should be able to get it cheaper than that! You should pop into New Zealand first, and you can get cheap as flights to Auzzie from here.

It would make a nice twist on the Melbourne cup this year though! Leave the horse in the paddocks, and race kangaroo!

I used travelocity.com and a few other comparison sites. idk if they have commercials there but they are huge here. $2500 was the cheapest from what I remember.

First of all make sure you have a lot of fun. There's an amazing lot of great places in Australia.

The west-coast is also something that you should definately visit if you have the time! Most people stay on the east.

Snorkling (use one of the smaller boats, not the big crowded ones!) in the Great Barreer Reef is also a "Must Do", and I loved the area around Cairns.

Besides the Great Ocean Road (, but only during summertime / surf season) is also amazing to drive!

In Sydney visit the Rocks, and the Whitsunday islands are nice. Ehhhm... too much to mention, but there's plenty of sites giving good advices also!
