bots

Hey all, especially admin,

I have noticed there are a number of bots that have most likely taken over inactive accounts on get dare. They often bounce around the chat rooms and that's about it. Is there a way to delete them?

hey,

i've been off work sick the past few days and have been sitting in the lounge chat room and there is one i know for sure, keeps popping in and out every few minutes for hours and hours. the profile is virtually empty and has existed for a few years, maybe i'm wrong but i doubt thats a real person

I think I know who you are talking about. I was as confused as you are by the profile but she is not a bot. As soon as she PM'd me, she was gone from the user list. We had a short conversation that couldn't have come from a bot. I think she just is looking for someone specific and when it isn't what she wants she doesn't stick around.

please use the report function to report their profiles and provide proof. there are quite a few users who use the chat solely for private conversations and don’t post on the forums so we do not ban profiles wihout substantial evidence of rule violations.

I was going to say almost exactly what Lola said.

When I first joined, it took me over a year to talk in open chat, however, I went in there all the time just to have a private conversation with one specific individual. My profile was not filled out because I really only joined to respond to that persons ad. It didn't mean I was a bot.

Like Lola said, if you suspect somebody is a bot, or you seem a bot spamming, please report them and we will look into it.

Or just talk to them! They might be too shy to respond, which also doesn't mean they're a bot, but if they do reply you'll know instantly that they're not, without bothering any mods.
