What is your favourite word?
What is your favourite word, and why?
I know, so easy... what can I say, I was feeling a touch etymological (with a tint of sociology cast in for good measure). Mine happens to be kumquat It always seems to make people smile, and in some cases, blush. |

You look so innocent to have that as a favourite word. I love it.
And... while I don't recommend Wikipedia as a reference in most instances, it was handy. "The kumquats or cumquats are a family of small fruit-bearing trees in the flowering plant family Rutaceae, in the genus Fortunella which is often included in the genus Citrus. The edible fruit closely resembles that of the orange (Citrus sinensis), but is smaller and is often oval." If you ever have the chance to try them, don't try to peel them. You eat them with the rind (skin) on them. |

I think, in most cases, the people smile or blush because the two syllables sound like words with erotic connotations, and it doesn't really rhyme or match well with any of the "more decent" words in the English language.
And I was thinking about my favourite animal actually, the snow leopard. =^.^= |

It's really from an inside joke... but the word potato. hahaha. My friend would say it in this really funny voice whenever I was feeling down, and it ALWAYS cheered me up.

Hmmm ... "cuddle"?
Or, as a stark contrast, "geek"? |
