How hard is it to delete a message you don't want to read.

How hard is it to recode the site to add a little picture in.

At this rate me might aswell have avatars that are gifs and every 5 seconds flash up ~this user is u18 and doesn't like your penis~

It's a great idea, yes, and one I'd like to see added. But, like it's been said, most people's ages are visible, and I think even with a stamp you'd get people trying their luck.
I'm almost positive that most people who PM me are well aware of my age, but just want to see if I'll do what they want anyway.

There will be three problems with that age icon:

(1) Minors will make themselves older to avoid getting branded (I mean that quite literally, if you use that stamp-icon

). You'd have to run an investigation on every person's true age.
(2) It'll signal that it'll be OK to basically split the forum into two groups: The minors and the adults, with minimal interaction in between the two groups.
(3) Age of consent-laws differ between different countries and even countries' subdivisions (states, provinces). For some users, an "Under 16"-stamp would be more useful, for others the law is more complicated and caculates legal interaction by the age gap.

Better suggestion: Make it mandatory that everyone's age (as derived from their registered date of birth) is visible to everyone on their profile page.

Even though Age of Consent is 16, you still can't send, say nude picture under 18.
The laws don't match up but still.
And I don't think it'll signal that, because the minors and the adults aren't all of a sudden going to stop talking. Most people I speak to here are adults.

Or a little badge next to the user name.
Because some users don't have their age up at all.

I'm 18, I don't want to say anything too mature to anyone too young.
I think it'd save us a little time looking for the age/asking for age.

Either that or mandatory age stamps? idkk
