But as the weeks went by, the first impression proved to be wrong and the boys soon became great friends. As the year went by, they realised that British universities were exactly the same as the stereotype: binge-drinking, sex, drugs and getting 40% to pass first year.

This story begins in the summer term of their first year. The two were inseparable, like twins. Their exams had finished so they spent every night (and many days) getting drunk, playing Xbox and going out. One night, they had been drinking since 3pm and decided to go into town. After trying to pull some girls, they realised they were far too drunk to be attractive to anyone so left to go back to their halls.

When they arrived back, they went to George’s room to play Xbox. They joked about the night, George winding Harry up about a girl turning him down.
“Mate, she blatantly wanted me.” George slurred.
“Shut up, you couldn’t even stand up!”
“What? You’re the one with beer down your shirt!”
“Fuck off!”
“Ha, you fuck off, ugly git!” George laughed, knowing he was winding Harry up.

“Nothing.” George replied. They boys sat down, Harry putting a film on his DVD.

George was confused. They had done this before, drunk wrestling, but this had never happened.

Before he got into bed, his mind started wondering. What if the two were so close because there was something more behind it? What it they were such good friends because of a physical and, maybe, mental attraction. He shook himself to stop thinking about it.

He was laying in Harry's bed for about ten minutes but decided he could not sleep. He sat up and turned the light on. He looked around the room, until his eyes finally rested... on Harry's bin. In it were a few tissues. George walked to the bin and picked up one. He could see that it had been wanked into, and he gave it a sniff. He knew what he was doing was weird, and gay, but it smelt different to what he'd expected. It smelt nice to him.

He rummaged in the bin a bit more, and found a condom, probably from one of Harry's one night stands. He picked it up and saw it was full. He did not know that this was just the beginning of a very special bromance.


Slow start, I know, but things pick up soon. These bits are important to get to know the characters. I would also like to point out that although this is fiction with fictional characters, it is based on true events.

However, one night the boys decided to go out again.
They drank their own weight in beer, went to a club and got talking to some ladies. After talking for a while, one of the girls made a suggestion.

"How about we have some fun?"
Harry and George looked at each other. They liked the sound of this.
"What kind of fun?" Harry asked.
"Well, let's play a game. First, you two kiss. Then we kiss. Easy." The second girl replied.
The boys were not expecting this. Even though they messed around a lot, pretending to be gay and wrestling, they had never kissed.
They turned to each other to discuss.

"Mate, what do you think?" Asked Harry.
George was confused again, he wanted this to happen. He did not want to sound too keen though.
"Umm, I'm not sure. I guess it's only a kiss, and it'll be fun to see them do it."
"Yes! So glad you're keen for this!" Harry said excitedly. George was 90% sure that it was because he would see two girls kiss.

"We'll do it." Harry told the girls.
"With tongues?" The girls asked together.
The boys looked at each other, nodded and looked back at the girls.
"With tongues."

George was first to turn his head, looking at Harry. He was frightened because he wanted this, although he told himself it was because he was drunk and wanted to see the girls kiss. Harry looked at George. The friends leaned in, closing their eyes.

Their lips met clumsily, they were both being (or at least acting...) reluctant at first. They opened their mouths slightly and began to kiss. Harry was first to use his tongue and brushed it against George's. The boys were now wrestling with their tongues, kissing passionately. Just as they were getting carried away, one of the girls said "that's enough." and they pulled away.

"Wow, that was so hot." Said the second girl, "Our turn!"
And the girls kissed just like the boys did. Harry and George were both very excited at this, even more so due to alcohol. George's mind was still on the kiss and, even though he had never even questioned their friendship before, so was Harry's. The girls stopped kissing.

"Right boys, we're leaving."
Harry went to stand up and follow.
"Oh. No, we're leaving together..."
Harry looked at the girls, they were holding hands. They looked at Harry and laughed.
"Haha, yeah we're lesbians. But it was fun meeting you two guys, you seem real.... close!" The girls walked away laughing.

Harry and George sat in silence for a few moments, gulping their beers.
"Well... that was..." Weird? Fun? George did not know how to finish.
"New." Helped Harry.
The boys laughed.
"Let's get some drinks in..." Suggested Harry.
"Sounds like a good idea."

Although both boys kept thinking of their kiss, the rest of the night was pretty uneventful.

However, when the boys got home one of them changed their friendship forever...
